Well today I wanted to do something a little different. Over at House of Erotica my editor friend Jillian Boyd has two great submission calls up. She can explain them far better then I so I would like to welcome Jillian!

Thank you to the lovely Nicole for letting me guest on her blog! My name is Jillian Boyd, and apart from writing erotic fiction, I also have turned my hand to editing erotica anthologies. 

It’s safe to say that, at first, I kind of greatly underestimated just how hard editing an anthology would be. I knew it wouldn’t be a walk in the park, obviously. Apart from the stuff you will expect, like the keeping in touch with authors, the reading, the accepting/rejecting and the various passes through all the accepted stories, not to mention the promotion of the finished product, there’s also those little things you don’t expect. 

For instance, the last thing I had expected to happen as I was gearing up to edit SPY GAMES earlier this year was for both my computer charger and charge port to malfunction and leave me with no other option than to hijack my partner’s computer and edit it on there. The anthology came together beautifully, but my God it was a tense month or so. 

I am, as you may expect, hoping that my computer doesn’t pull a repeat trick because I’m gearing up to edit two brand new anthologies – and I need your submissions! If you adore writing femdom, To Obey Her is the anthology for you. And if you like using your mouth and tongue (translation: if you enjoy writing about oral sex) Licked is the way to go. But of course, if you’re inspired to contribute to both of them, by all means...

For this anthology, I am looking for well-written, well-characterized and sizzling hot erotica with a strong femdom BDSM and kink element. I want a clear power dynamic between the Domme and the person (or people they’re playing with) – trust, respect and consent are keywords here. I welcome stories from both the Domme and the submissive’s point of view. Show me Dommes with doubts and imperfections, subs who know what they want and aren’t pushovers, the lighter side, the darker side, the love and trust and fun in the kinky sex these characters share.

I’d like the characters to be diverse in age, gender and sexual orientation (I would definitely welcome stories featuring characters who identify as queer or Trans*), race and experience. A first time sub being shown the ropes (take that as literally as you want) by a caring Domme? Bring it on. Two seasoned players and their day to day lives? Hell yeah. A creative twist on current popular BDSM erotica tropes? Surprise me! I am mainly looking for contemporary settings, but I wouldn’t turn away historical stories or stories set in the future. Send me the story only you can write.

What I’m not looking for: incest, underage sex, rape, necrophilia, bestiality, scat, golden showers

Format of submission:

Times New Roman, 12 point black font.

Do not indent your paragraphs.

Do not hit return at the end of each line - only at the end of a paragraph.

Do not hit return multiple times at the end of a chapter, instead use a page break (ctrl and enter)

Please submit your final, complete and totally edited version of the story.

File format: .doc. Since this is a British publisher UK spelling and grammar is greatly preferred.

In your document at the top left of the page please include your legal name and mailing address. If you are using a pen-name please provide both and make it clear which one you wish to use. In your email, please provide a short bio and tell me briefly what the story is about, which pairing(s) you wrote about and the word count.

Authors must own their rights to the stories and not have had them published anywhere else. Please note the publisher has final approval over the stories included in the manuscript.

For this anthology, use your mouth. And tongue. And hands and fingers, for some assistance. Yes, I’m looking for stories about all kinds of oral sex. You can interpret that theme in any way you like, as long as you bring me strong characters, a creative plot and perhaps a little bit of fun and playfulness.

Pairings and characters can be varied in sexuality and gender (and in number). The focus is very much on oral sex – the taste of your lover, the scent, the feelings the act invokes in both the giver and receiver. Make me feel the urgency, the need, the intimacy and trust. I want these stories to cover the varied ways the oral pleasure can be served up, the varied emotions and catalysts for the act.

Although I prefer contemporary settings, I would love to receive some historical/futuristic stories as well. The subgenre doesn’t matter – write me the kind of sizzling hot, gorgeous oral sex story only you can write.
